Residents Association
The residents association was formed in 1988 'to serve the residents of Bothenhampton'. It was initiated primarily to stave off undesireable housing developement and to fight against the increasing private and commercial traffic to and from the landfill site.
We seek to help each and every resident with their problems - whatever they might be! (non political - non domestic!!)
We meet once or twice a year - or more frequently if a major problem develops. Similarly we have a newsletter once or normally, twice a year.
It costs £3 per household to join and is open to any resident of Bothenhampton; at present membership hovers around 100 households.
We have a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer plus two other committee members. Our accounts are audited.
We don't have a programme of events as such - those village activities now tend to be organised by the Bothenhampton Helpers with whom there is a close relationship.
We attend Parish Council meetings and are invited to participate in the Bridport Forum meetings organised by the WDDC.
